"Hit the Links" Charity Golf Tournament
Members of the Greater Rappahannock Area Ladies League (GRALL) are committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry within our community.
GRALL will hold its next "Hit the Links" Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, Virginia. The tournament will raise money for GRALL's academic scholarships and community projects. The tournament is a four-person scramble with featured prizes for the winning teams, hold prizes, and other opportunities to win.
GRALL has selected to partner with Sister of the Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (SOI). The purpose of SOI is to foster the educational, social, and cultural standards of the Fredericksburg area community and its environs. The foundation annually provides several scholarships to deserving high school students who seek to further their education. Its activities include sponsorship of the biennial debutante cotillion, health fairs, academic excellence community program, and co-sponsorship of numerous community events, including the Women's Forum, the 2010 Census community forum, Census complete count committees, and the University of Mary Washington multi-cultural fair. The SOI Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Proceeds from the 2010 golf tournament will benefit the educational and charitable goals of both organizations, GRALL and SOI.
